This collaboration marks a powerful step forward in expanding our commitment to helping high school and college students from underrepresented communities achieve their academic and career goals.
About L.O.V.E. Mentoring
L.O.V.E. (Latinas On the Verge of Excellence) Mentoring connects young Latinas in middle school and high school with passionate college women mentors who offer guidance, support, and inspiration. Their mission is to bridge the achievement gap by fostering self-confidence, promoting academic success, and encouraging young women to pursue higher education.
A History of L.O.V.E.
In 2012, Claudia Espinosa founded the L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program, after having been inspired while working for a suicide prevention program where she counseled Latina adolescents who suffered with depression and suicidal ideations. The first L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program was launched at NYU as a pilot project in the spring of 2012. L.O.V.E. was officially launched in the fall of 2012 at The Young Women’s Leadership School of East Harlem as an after-school program. Since then, the program has expanded to schools in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Over the past twelve years, L.O.V.E. has become an established nonprofit organization, implemented in public schools. L.O.V.E. has served over 3,000 students with activity in 35 separate schools across NYC.
What This Partnership Means for Students
Through this new partnership, Seeds of Fortune Inc. and L.O.V.E. Mentoring will work together to broaden access to resources for high school and college-bound students. By joining forces, we will enhance the support available to students from both organizations, ensuring that more young women have access to the tools, mentorship, and encouragement they need to thrive academically and beyond.
